The Role
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, you will form a key part of a commercial & strategic Procurement team that is focused on sourcing and category management with transactional and supply planning duties delivered by colleagues within Material Planning. You will be tasked with delivering a value for money supply base, with specific focus on cost, quality and performance. Key duties-
* Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term agreements
* Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan
* Conduct cost analysis and bench marking to identify cost-saving opportunities
* Negotiate terms of business, competitive pricing and where applicable, service level agreements and performance expectations
* Understand market trends for owned commodity
What they're looking for
We are seeking a commercially minded procurement professional who has good negotiation and relationship management experience as well as experience of working towards KPI's & cost saving targets. Your procurement experience will be from technical manufacturing or engineering environments and it is beneficial (but not must have) if your experience includes tracking commodity markets e.g. metals or plastics. This opportunity will suit both a strategic Buyer / Senior Buyer looking for the next chapter of their procurement career or alternatively a more senior professional currently at Manager level but is keen to focus on strategic procurement deliverables over team & people leadership.
