Job Title: Portfolio Analyst
Contract: 9 Months - With potential scope for extensions or a permanent opportunity!
Location: Warwick / Hybrid (1 - 2 days per week on site)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Analyst to join our high-profile clients Executive Programme Office.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting portfolio-level governance, delivery, and oversight. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring robust portfolio management practices are in place, helping to drive strategic decision-making and execution.
This role requires strong expertise in portfolio office delivery and governance, with a focus on maintaining structured processes and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Frameworks and Standards: Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks at the portfolio level, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
Portfolio Planning & Monitoring: Maintain and regularly update the portfolio plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, resource availability, and key dependencies.
Records Management: Ensure portfolio-related records are maintained accurately and comply with governance requirements.
Dependency Management: Track, analyse, and manage interdependencies across programmes and projects, providing insights and recommendations to mitigate risks.
Investment (Sanctioning) Support: Support investment decision-making processes by providing analysis and preparing documentation for funding approvals.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in portfolio office delivery and governance, ideally within a complex organisational environment.
Strong understanding of portfolio, programme, and project management methodologies (e.g., MoP, MSP, PRINCE2, Agile).
Ability to analyse complex information, draw insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence senior leadership.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in portfolio management tools and reporting systems.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in a public sector, financial services, or large corporate environment.
Familiarity with investment appraisal processes and business case development.
