Do you have what it takes to be a Security Control Room Operative with SGS?
The Security Control Room Operative will act as the shift Team Leader’s deputy, stepping in to share the responsibilities as and when requested by the Team Leader. This includes overseeing daily security operations, assisting with any issues that arise, and ensuring clear communication across the team. Additionally, the Control Room Operative will support the SEGs (Security Escort Group) by helping to plan for any jobs or tasks that may come in and any issues related to the other external sites, ensuring everything is organized and prepared in advance.
Hours of Work: 4 on, 4 off shift rotation, 12 hours
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in managing the daily operations of the security control room.
2. Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control.
3. Coordinate emergency response activities and liaise with emergency services when required.
4. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of incidents and maintain detailed logs.
5. Support the Security Room Controller in implementing security protocols and procedures.
6. Train and supervise security personnel on control room operations.
7. Conduct regular equipment checks and troubleshoot technical issues.
8. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external parties.
Ensure compliance with all relevant security legislation and company policies. To work with us you will need to be confident, articulate, and communicate well both orally and in written language.
Although demanding, a Security Control Room Operative role with SGS will allow you to demonstrate your exemplary customer service skills as you engage with customers, clients, and visitors throughout each shift, whilst remaining alert to security issues and keeping everyone safe.
Essential Skills:
1. Must hold a valid SIA – Security Guarding as a minimum.
2. Must have the right to work in the UK.
3. Have a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education during that period.
