Registered Staff Nurse - RGH Ward 19, Respiratory
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse on Ward 19 at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties as a staff nurse in the Acute Medical Wards, carrying out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed, meeting Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB requirements, as well as NMC Standards and Codes of Conduct.
The post holder will:
1. Be responsible for the management of a group of patients and occasionally take charge of the ward/department and its resources for the duration of their duty.
2. Maintain high standards of patient care.
3. Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
4. Support and supervise junior staff.
5. Maintain accurate, current, comprehensive, and concise records concerning the condition of the client, in accordance with NMC Standards for Record & Record Keeping and the UHB's Patient Record Policy.
6. Liaise with appropriate Clinical Specialists (e.g., Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists) regarding individual patient requirements and planned programmes of care.
Main duties of the job
Ward 19 is a 28-bedded Acute Medical Ward with a special interest in Respiratory Medicine. It is currently developing a non-invasive ventilation specialist bay, providing an exciting innovative area to work in. Respiratory medicine is continually evolving and can be both challenging and rewarding. We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated staff nurse to join our friendly team and deliver the highest quality care. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
