We are looking for an experienced, inspirational Headteacher to join our Team. Our Online school is based at our Support Centre in Belper, Derbyshire.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
2. To ensure that equality and diversity is followed and encouraged
3. Delivering CPD for tutors to ensure that they can fulfil their roles and responsibilities in providing high quality education for our young people
4. Ensure reviews of EHCPs are completed in line with the SEN/D Code of Practice
5. Management of the school budget
6. Attend the LAC/PEP/EHCP reviews for young people who receive an outreach package, ensuring that the voice of the young person is heard within the review process
7. Supporting the completion of the Personal Education Plans for young people who are cared for by their local authority
8. Ensuring that PEPs are completed in line with local authority and statutory guidance and timeframes
9. Quality Assurance of PEPs
10. Monitoring the academic attainment, progress and achievement of young people on the outreach programme
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to teaching, outstanding leadership skills, and a strong financial management capability. Previous experience leading a team within an SEN environment is essential, and experience in setting up a new school would be desirable.
As the Headteacher, you will have key responsibilities in strategic leadership, curriculum management, staff, and resource management, and accountability for success and attainment. You will be an integral part of this exciting opportunity to open a new school and achieve outstanding outcomes for young people.
You will have a teaching qualification with QTS status and an NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or willingness to work towards NPQH the completion of this.
