Head of Geography Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum GSL Education are looking for qualified Head of Geography to work at client Secondary Schools in York, North Yorkshire starting in September 2025. The successful candidate will play a key role in curriculum development, staff mentoring, and raising student achievement across Key Stages 3 to 5. Head of Geography Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Geography Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. Develop and implement an engaging curriculum aligned with national standards. Mentor and support staff in professional development and best practices. Monitor and assess student progress, implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Collaborate with senior leadership to achieve whole-school objectives. Head of Geography requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Geography or a related subject. Proven experience in teaching Geography at secondary level. Strong leadership and management skills. Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education. A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and raising educational standards. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
