This Management Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and will work within the Finance directorate based in our Crawley, Energy House office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of between £58,000.00 - £70,000.00 depending on your skills, experience and qualifications, and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after the probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

The role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will improve the financial and operational performance of UKPN Services. This includes driving improved business resource productivity (both assets and staff) and performance through improved financial management and forecasting.
You will also represent the finance team with the management of the business.
Skills & Responsibilities:
This is a professional role which includes liaising throughout the business, with regular communication with central finance departments, senior management, non-finance managers, and external contractors.
You will also advise operational management on the important issues and impacts arising concerning the financial position of the business.
While you will work in Crawley, to engage with business activities, you will be expected, from time to time, to attend operational reviews at other UKPN Services locations and project sites.
We expect that you will undertake this role with a high degree of autonomy, referring to your line manager for guidance or decisions.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Understand and explain operational and financial performance to managers in a manner that focuses debate and drives a culture of continuous improvement to exceed targets.
2. Provide clear & insightful accurate management information to allow Senior Managers to guide improvements in operational, service quality, and financial performance including the preparation of the monthly Performance Reports and contributing to the consolidated UKPN Services Performance Report.
3. Drive best in class improvements to the process of producing monthly financial reports, support the participation of continuous improvement regarding costs, and participate in reviews with the business to understand the reasons for variances and work with the business to improve efficiency.
4. Participate in the preparation of Budgets, Medium Term Plans, and Forecasts as agreed with the Finance Manager.
5. Identify opportunities and areas for attention & recommend options for action - including areas of cost reduction, best practice governance and controls, and excellent strategic prioritisation of expenses within UKPN Services.
6. Embed financial governance around the appraisal and implementation of any new initiatives or financial processes within UKPN Services as agreed with the Finance Manager.
7. Participate in the preparation of Statutory Accounts and supporting tables as agreed with the Finance Manager.
8. Look for continuous improvements to processes within UKPN Services and coordinate implementation of these with the Finance Manager.
9. Help manage and motivate the departmental team and promote cross-working with other teams within the Finance Directorate.
To be successful, we believe that you will have the following experience:
1. Qualified accountant. Several years PQE is desirable.
2. Experience in PowerBi is desirable.
3. Experience of solving business problems.
