Job Description Electrical Installations Engineer Full-time Bristol / Hybrid An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Rolls-Royce as an Electrical Installations Engineer supporting Naval Gas Turbine Programmes within the Defence business based in Bristol. This Electrical Installations Engineer role will lead the design of Electronic Control Panels for Marine Gas Turbines across different applications. You will be responsible for leading the modification of the Control Panel design in response to new customer requirements, interfaces, product line improvements and obsolescence replacements, as well as industry and certification standards applicable to Naval applications. In this role you will help us to continually improve our way of working as we strive to innovate using agile methodologies. As a key member of the team, you will interface with Mechanical and Control system design teams, as well as Electronic and Electrical Hardware Suppliers, Naval customers and ship / propulsion system integrators. What you will be doing: Lead the design and development of the Gas Turbine Local Control Panel, including specification and selection of internal Electronic components, resulting in a validated design ready for manufacture. Support with the design and development of other Electrical and Electronic units comprising the Gas Turbine ancillary systems, and integration with interfacing Ship systems. Manage the requirements set for the Control Panel, including variation across customer applications, as well as allocation to test vehicles and collating verification evidence in order to demonstrate compliance. Conduct root cause analysis in support of customer problem investigation closures. Develop new processes, architectures, and ways of working to continuously improve on the cost and quality of our products. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles and for this role we are looking for someone with: Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electrical / Electronics, Control Systems or other relevant STEM subject. Proficient in electrical installation design and development, including appreciation of electrical installation Safety and Maintainability, Electrical Protection Design and Coordination, EMI Shielding and Earthing strategies. Commercial Off-The-Shelf electronics. Experience with electrical cable standards and an awareness of wiring and cable (i.e. harness design) software tools. NX CAD, AutoCAD or similar experience. Curious, self-motivated, and confident to challenge when appropriate. Technical problem-solving abilities.
