Contracts Officer
Job Title: Contracts Officer.
Location: Oxford, Hybrid.
Reporting to: Senior Legal & Governance Officer.
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £25,000-£37,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Our Precision Neuroscience Initiative – GlobalMinds – is creating the UK’s largest biobank of patients with mental health conditions to transform research and alleviate disease burden in this area of critical unmet medical needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Assist the Senior Legal & Governance Officer to build out and improve upon template contracts.
· Work with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts achieve their objectives.
· Collaborate with the Governance Team to develop and implement contracting infrastructure, such as records management, reporting mechanisms, and standard operating procedures.
· Review client and supplier contracts, including negotiating contractual terms with the support of the Senior Legal & Governance Officer.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
· Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
· Working knowledge of contract law such as a law degree, law conversion, or relevant paralegal experience.
Desirable
· Experience working in a start-up / SME environment.
· Knowledge of data protection and/or intellectual property law.
· An interest in health research, innovation, and/or data science.
Skills & Competencies
· Excellent verbal and written communication – ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees and clients - for example, translating legalese for a non-legal audience.
· Exceptional attention to detail - taking real pride in delivering consistently high-quality work - for example, a genuine interest in working through the details of a contract or legal issue.
· Process-oriented - an appreciation for how and when processes could be developed or improved upon - for example, identifying and pro-actively suggesting solutions to friction points.
· Taking initiative - a willingness to problem-solve both independently and with support of the Governance Team – for example, taking ownership over tasks.
· Collaborative - enjoy working in a team - for example, being forthcoming with ideas and feedback.
