Paddle UK is the Governing Body for Paddlesports. We have had many advances and paddling now covers a wide range of interests and passions as a sport and a leisure activity for all. We want to support and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy and realise their potential within all aspects of paddling regardless of their age, background or ability.
The Role
Paddle UK is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Volunteer Manager to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive volunteer plan. This exciting new role will be pivotal in shaping the future of paddlesport by engaging and supporting volunteers at all levels, from local communities to national initiatives.
The Volunteer Manager will champion volunteering within the paddlesport community by:
1. Developing and Implementing a Volunteer Plan: Creating a strategic framework for volunteer engagement, outlining clear goals, objectives, and pathways for involvement.
2. Supporting Existing Volunteers: Providing ongoing support, training, and recognition to our valued volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
3. Recruiting New Volunteers: Developing targeted recruitment strategies to attract new volunteers from diverse backgrounds and skill sets, expanding our reach and impact.
4. Connecting Volunteers with Opportunities: Matching volunteers with meaningful roles that align with their interests and expertise, maximising their contributions and satisfaction.
5. Fostering Collaboration: Building strong relationships with internal departments, regional teams, clubs, and community groups to create a cohesive and supportive volunteer network.
6. Promoting Volunteering: Raising awareness of the value of volunteering within paddlesport, highlighting the positive impact volunteers make and celebrating their achievements.
7. Monitoring and Evaluating: Tracking volunteer engagement, measuring the effectiveness of volunteer programs, and identifying areas for improvement.
8. Ensuring Alignment with Strategic Objectives: Ensuring the volunteer plan supports Paddle UK’s overall strategic goals and contributes to the growth and development of paddlesport.
