We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Production to join our Operations team and lead our in-house production function.
Responsibilities:
* Day to day management of production team, including production planning
* Potential to oversee fulfilment operations depending on experience
* Oversee ongoing management of production plan, ensuring all customer demand is scheduled and within SLA’s
* Use lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and minimise waste
* Capacity planning based on current demand to flex up/down in line with business requirements
* Ensure machine maintenance is scheduled, completed and recorded to minimise machinery downtime
* Work with the broader Operations team and other business areas to deliver on the annual revenue and cost targets
* Lead, motivate, and develop staff within the production function
* Monitor, review, and update SOPs to enhance quality and productivity
* Work alongside the quality function to ensure that production quality is maintained and procedures are followed in line with SOPs
* Ensure adherence to all business processes within the Production function
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
* Dynamic approach and natural ability to work under pressure and problem solve
* Good communicator at all levels
* Production experience with liquid mixing and filling
* Good knowledge and working experience with COSHH
* Experience of managing production planning
* Engineering experience including fault finding on production machinery
* Good knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations
* Experience of delivering improvement projects such as machinery upgrades and expansion
Desirable:
* Lean Six Sigma
* IOSH or NEBOSH
* Experience in a Food or Drink manufacturing environment
* Warehouse & Fulfilment management
