A position has arisen within the surgery to join the fast-paced reception team. Marisco Medical Practice is looking for an experienced receptionist to join the team, working 25 hours per week. The hours are scheduled for 5 hours per day on a rota basis between the hours of 8 am and 6:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
We aspire to offer exceptional care to our 14,500 patients and are innovative in our approach to developing new teams and pathways to ever improve how general practice is delivered. We have a friendly and supportive team of more than 90 staff, with 7 GPs, Clinical Pharmacist, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Counsellors, and our range of administrative staff. There is also a great social side to the practice with activities as a whole practice or within each team. Staff are invited to Christmas parties, evenings out, and many more opportunities throughout the year.
We are seeking an experienced Receptionist to provide excellent customer service and project a professional image for the Surgery. To provide accurate, efficient, and punctual medical administration support to Partners, GPs, Registrars, and Practice Nurses.
The successful post holders will undertake a Standard DBS check and be subject to pre-employment checks.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Answering the telephone and assisting with queries as required.
2. To provide a high-quality administration service to the practice and its patients.
3. Dealing with patient queries by phone.
4. Recording of patient blood pressure recordings.
5. Provide excellent customer service.
6. Update patient records in a timely and accurate manner.
7. Keep GPs informed of updates as necessary.
8. Liaising with healthcare professionals, staff members, and patients.
9. Updating and completing tasks and scanning documents as needed.

Education/Experience:
1. Proven administration experience in a GP/NHS department environment would be highly desirable.
2. Educated to a high standard of GCSE in Maths and English language.
3. Strong IT skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.
4. To have tact and diplomacy in direct and indirect emotional circumstances.
5. To possess an excellent, calming, and professional telephone manner.
6. Knowledge of the NHS is an advantage.
7. Able to get on with others and be a team player in a sometimes pressurised and time-sensitive environment.
