An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and dynamic Acute Oncology Service (AOS) within the East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust, part time 19 hours per week.
Based within the Acute Oncology Service at Ipswich Hospital you will have the ability to develop and consolidate your existing skills in medical/oncological triage and the assessment of acutely unwell oncology patients within the organisation.
You will be pivotal in the co-ordination and further expansion of the role within the Acute Oncology Service across both sites within the trust.
You should have experience of triaging unwell medical and or oncology/haematology patients and the ability to manage a dedicated patient caseload as part of a team.
This post is until 31st March 2025. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out over the phone assessments and inpatient rounds reviewing patients who have presented to the AOS unwell either through a complication of malignancy or side effect of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments.
For this role you need to have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
