As a Leakage Technician in our Data PRV team, your main responsibility will be to maintain and repair our leakage data equipment and systems. We use advanced technology to locate and fix leaks to protect our water supply. We are already one of the top water companies in terms of leakage performance, but we constantly strive to improve.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment such as pressure reducing valves, data loggers, and water flow meters. You will also collaborate with colleagues on data logging and leakage projects. It is important that you have a strong customer focus, take pride in your work, and aim for the best outcomes.
Ideally, you will have experience in leakage detection, water distribution networks, or water production. A company van will be provided for travel, and all you need is a clean driver's license. You will work 37 hours per week on a shift rota between 7am and 7pm from Monday to Saturday, and there may be occasions when you are required to assist customers outside of regular hours. You may also be put on a standby rota, with hours agreed locally.

What will you be accountable for?
5. Maintain and repair all leakage data equipment.
6. Maintain PRVs (and similar apparatus) identified by our maintenance program.
7. Troubleshoot data issues which could lead to zonal integrity and suspect flows. You’ll work with other department to carry out DMA integrity checks when necessary.
8. Perform site surveys, repair, or replace defective data devices and PRV equipment and carryout installation and downloading of loggers as required.
9. Change or repair district meters and mechanisms on site in line with valve operating procures and Health and Safety requirements.
10. Assist with data logging of projects including Top 100, E-metering, Control areas, MoD sites, pressure logging and customer meters.
11. Liaise with SEW customer contact centre staff, Production Staff, Engineering Staff, and other SEW staff on data / PRV related work and other leakage team activities.
12. Engage with and assist SEW customers as required.
13. You may be required to work out of hours, to undertake night work and be available on call as required.
14. You’ll perform all administrative requirements of the role (e.g., inputting work onto Nomad, GIS and other corporate systems).
What do you bring to the role?
15. You’ll have knowledge and experience of leakage detection activities and competent in the use of leakage detecting equipment.
16. You’ll have knowledge and experience of pressure reducing values, value operations, flushing and main tracing.
17. You’ll preferably have experience repairing Data equipment and PRV’s (training can be provided).
18. You have a full clean driver’s licence.
19. You’re able to work in confined spaces and carry out manual handling.
20. You’ll know how to manage Health and Safety for teams and contractors.
21. You have good communication and customer service skills.
