Graduate Site Manager - Permanent Opportunity

As the GRAHAM business continues to grow and develop, we are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Site Manager for our Building business. The successful candidate will work on projects providing support to our existing Site Management Team. The role of the Graduate Site Manager includes all site activities, encompassing subcontractors, quality, health, safety & environment, programmes, commercial and client liaison.
Job Description:
As a Graduate Site Manager, you will be working under one of our experienced Site Managers to assist in overseeing different aspects of our projects while developing your own understanding. The suitable candidate will have a construction related degree and will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and be able to work as part of a team. You will also deputise for the Site Manager when required.
The Graduate Site Manager roles and responsibilities include:
1. Implementation and compliance of GRAHAM way of working
2. Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are achieved
3. Ensure the Quality Management System is implemented for all the component parts of construction
4. The execution of work on site
5. Management of subcontract works
6. Record quality on key packages
7. Production planning and progress monitoring
8. Recording as built information including start and finish dates of work packages and activities
9. Chair and minute Work Package / Subcontractor progress meetings
10. Attend progress, technical and design meetings as requested by the Project Manager
11. Manage labour and plant requirements for construction
12. Problem solving
13. Communications with design team in respect to construction matters
14. Keep thorough records and maintain the site diary
15. Maintenance of good industrial relations
16. Ensure work is delivered in accordance with the specification
17. Work to the Graham IMS
18. Take part in and deliver a Safety Culture with the entire site team
19. Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for Graduate Site Manager and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.
Technical Competencies
Essential:
1. Studied Construction Management or similar to degree level at university or technical college
2. Demonstrate an understanding of construction management practices
3. Demonstrate strong communication skills
Desirable:
1. Health & Safety Induction Including Management System CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS Card
2. Previous site experience
