Fantastic Opportunity for a Hardware or Software Engineer to work in the Architecture & Technology Group at Arm's Headquarters in Cambridge!
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work on development and maintenance of the parts of the Arm Architecture relating to virtual memory. The role will also involve validation of the ideas and proposals using models. You will be working with architects, technical leads, engineering teams and technical writers. The candidate will gain insight and have input into the development of future CPU architectures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribution to the design and development of Arm architecture products (authored and machine-readable architecture specifications, models, and appropriate testing/validation).
- Evaluate the viability of future architecture features and enhancements, through a mix of modelling, prototyping and analysis.
- Work to ensure that architecture specifications are unambiguous and complete.
- Working closely with Arm architects, project managers, technical writers, and the wider team to plan and those products and transfer knowledge to them.
- Assist in review and maintenance of Arm's architecture reference manuals and other externally facing documentation.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors (BS) or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Electronic or Electrical Engineering. Degrees in other areas will be considered if the applicant has relevant experience.
- Understanding of processor architecture and the interaction between software and hardware.
- Practical working knowledge of memory systems architecture, for example as a design and verification engineer or as a systems software engineer.
- Use quantitative evidence to reason about, and articulate the rationale for, engineering trade-offs.
- Enthusiasm for growing technical knowledge and working multi-functionally.
“NICE TO HAVE” SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Exposure to Arm Architecture is desirable.
- Experience in writing software models is desirable
- Understanding of file formats and markup language such as JSON, XML, markdown etc. is desirable, but not required
- Experience of collaborating with internal or external customers to establish an understanding of requirements and constraints.
- Experience with practices and processes for software tooling, testing, and delivery. Also, version control tools and methodologies, for example git.
