About us
Data and technology play a key role within Campus Experience & Infrastructure (CE&I). We are looking for a CAD/BIM Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract (hybrid working) who will be able to implement a Digital Strategy for the built environment with a scalable methodology that can be applied across areas within CE&I, with the primary objective to serve the business and the projects following guidelines of the Construction Industry Council and UK BIM Framework suite of documents.
The role will play a pivotal role in implementing UCL’s digital strategy for the built environment. This role demands a forward-thinking approach to the develop and maintain UCL’s BIM protocols, ensuring alignment with industry standards and improving accessibility and usability of building information.
About the role
The main duties of the role are as follows:
* To assist the Estate Information Manager in the recommending, developing and implementing of CAD/ BIM strategies, ensuring exceptional value and experience for all stakeholders.
* To support the development and coordination of CE&I building information, supporting the Estate Record Information Strategy for digitising and enhancing accessibility to vital building information.
* To work with peers on the delivery of the CE&I Asset Information resource, develop asset data management strategies and deploy effective data governance framework, processes & procedures to improve the quality, management and exploitation of data and assets information.
* Lead on the identification and procurement of suitable standards, strategies, processes, storage, and assurance activities to create an environment where information is seen as an asset for CE&I and UCL as a whole.
About you
* HND or equivalent within engineering or equivalent professional experience
* Relevant professional certification in BIM (such as RICS BIM Manager Certification, BRE or BSI Professional Certification or Building SMART international ISO19650 Certification); BIM software accreditation (such as Revit Certified Professional)
* Relevant professional qualification such as Chartered Manager with CMI, Chartered Architectural Technologist CIAT, Certified IWFM with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management or Chartered Construction Manager with CIOB
* Understanding of industry standards such as SFG20, ISO9001, ISO19650, UK BIM Framework and specific technical standards
* Understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project / programme management including robust assurance
* Ability to work under pressure; able to manage multiple tasks and changing demands with minimum supervision
* Highly numerate with strength in accuracy & attention to detail in a high output & speed environment
* Excellent PC skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Suites
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritise workload from a variety of different sources
* Analytical thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills
* Data management skills including use of Excel to organise and manipulate
* Good quality and process driven person
* Strong and effective communication skills
* Strong customer interface skills and attitude
