Virtual School Area Education officer - Post 16 North - Lateral Move Permanent Grade 5 - £41,511 - £49,764 Working hours 36.5 per week The Virtual School are seeking to appoint a Virtual School Area Education Officer for the North of the city in Post 16 education, employment and training. The work does also cover out of area schools and colleges. Job Purpose: To promote high expectations for children in care and those known to a social worker within our educational settings, prioritising their Educational needs to secure ambitious aspirations To develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of all Post 16 education settings and training providers and their staff so they can effectively meet the needs of any child or young person who has experienced being in the care system. To lead on partnership work with relevant agencies to prioritise education for children known to social care and those with current and previous care experiences across a geographical area To coordinate resourcing using the top slice of the Post 16 pupil premium plus grant around local schools to enable them to maintain and re-engage Young People in suitable education, employment or training. To actively develop strategies and programmes of support to improve the attainment and engagement of children with care experiences in the post 16 sector Oversee the completion of high quality Personal Education Plans and the transition to the care leaving service You must upload a Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application.
