Job overview
We are recruiting for a Clinical Trials Practitioner who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
Have you thought about joining a team where you will be supported as you develop new skills and build on your existing knowledge and experience and wish to pursue a career in clinical research? You will work with the research team recruiting patients to clinical trials and other NIHR research studies.
Research skills and competency-based training will be provided which are combined with practice placements to deliver an integrated approach to clinical research training.

Main duties of the job
You will be working with doctors and research nurses in recruiting patients to different surgical and medical research studies and assisting with their care, including taking bloods, performing ECG's and vital signs. Training will be provided for other clinical skills.
You will also be supporting with the administrative side of the studies, e.g preparing notes, collecting scan reports and assisting the non-clinical team in locating and extracting data from patient records.

Qualifications/Training
* Willingness to undertake training as appropriate for role
* Evidence of CPD and maintenance of PDP
Previous Experience
* Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
* Proven ability to work under pressure.
* Experience of teaching, and mentoring
* Experience of working with patients and families within relevant clinical areas.
* Proven effectiveness as working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of working within a healthcare environment.
Skills
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work cross boundaries integrating with multidisciplinary staff
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office software. (including word, Excel)
* Ability to make clinical judgments regarding patient needs where appropriate.
Knowledge
* Awareness of GCP (Good Clinical Practice)
* Awareness of research governance issues
