Techniche Global are supporting a global food manufacturer to appoint a Production Engineer. You will play a critical role in maintaining seamless production by responding swiftly to breakdowns, reducing downtime, and ensuring reliability through planned maintenance.
Salary: up to £43k plus £5k shift allowance
Location: near Newport- 100% onsite
Duration: perm/ full-time
Working Hours
Seven-day fortnight: Work 7 out of 14 days, with alternating weeks of days and nights shifts
12-hour shifts (7am - 7pm)
Key Responsibilities
Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
Conduct planned maintenance to improve equipment reliability
Support in commissioning new equipment and upgrading existing machinery
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety requirements
Hands-on involvement, suited to those who excel in dynamic, fast-paced settings
About You
This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong engineering background in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Key Skills
Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing settings
Competency in either electrical or mechanical maintenance
Desirable: Completed 4-year apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering, and familiarity with hygiene standards in food manufacturing
