Role Overview Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, and working closely with the wider operations team, the Materials Controller will focus on ensuring reliable supply of all direct and indirect materials required to maintain production output. This role will cover all departments; handling Goods In/Out, Stock Control and Purchasing activity. Key Responsibilities & Tasks Goods In & Out Process all goods inwards and outwards collections for materials and stock items. Liaise with suppliers and third-party transport to ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery of items. Manage third-party transport arrangements. Stock Control & Inventory M onitor stock levels and plan requirements promptly. Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels. Ensure ERP processes are accurately maintained. Monitor and uphold agreed inventory levels in line with seasonal demand and supply chain challenges. Report on material usage across all business units. Assess storage suitability and contribute to continuous improvement projects. Purchasing Ensure processes are aligned with Supply Chain policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Support and manage direct materials to comply with the Production Plan. Monitor and maintain budgetary cost controls. Procure materials to identify cost-saving opportunities, including both direct and indirect materials. Conduct vendor appraisals and manage performance against agreed metrics. Adhere to purchasing controls and measures, reviewing them monthly to ensure alignment with the company strategy. General Operations Support operational functions as needed to achieve output. Assist the production management team in identifying improvements in efficiency and capacity. Analyse complex data to ensure optimisation and efficiency. Support and carry out stock takes. Liaise with relevant departments to introduce and drive new projects from inception to completion. Ensure processes are kept up to standard and conduct regular reviews for continuous improvements.
