Job Purpose:
I am a happy and fun loving 9 year old boy looking for a Personal Assistant to support me at home to give my family a break. I have a diagnosis of Autism and would like you to have a calm and positive personality. I live with my parents, brother and sister and our friendly cat.
I enjoy engaging with those around me and like to talk about my special interest which is flags of the world. I enjoy playing board games, streaming music, playing video games and watching tv especially cartoons. I would like a PA who will enjoy sharing my interests with me.
Location: Norwich, NR7
Details:
1. Personal care – I currently wear pull ups.
2. Basic meal preparation.
3. Discussing my interests and encouraging activities.
4. Managing challenging behaviour.
Personal Specification: Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Assessment of these, both on application and at the interview, will be the main factor in determining your success.
Essential:
1. Ideally experience of children with SEN/Autism
2. Calm and positive.
3. Friendly and caring.
Summary Terms and Conditions:
1. The rate of pay for this position is £15.00 per hour.
2. Hours and times of work as follows: 6 hours per week fortnightly on Saturdays plus an additional 6 hours per week during school holidays (days and times to be discussed at interview).
3. The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
4. Access to free Care Skills training for employer workers.
5. If this job requires Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
The post is subject to the following:
1. A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
2. Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
3. Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
