This welcoming and generous household seek a skilled full-time housekeeper to join their team at a grand six-bedroom Georgian residence in the Worcestershire countryside.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, and take pride in high standards of housekeeping. Working within a well-structured team, including part-time cleaning staff, a house manager, gardeners, and the principals themselves, the housekeeper will help maintain an organised and efficient household.
This role has a strong focus on both textiles and food. Responsibilities include baking and food service for the family and guests, stock monitoring, shopping, and maintaining the kitchen, white goods, pantry, laundry, cupboards, and wardrobes. The housekeeper will also supervise part-time cleaning staff, ensure protocols are followed, and maintain strong communication within the team. Attention to detail is essential, with responsibility for identifying maintenance issues and preventing damage.
Caring for delicate and valuable textiles is a key aspect of the role, including washing and ironing family laundry, starched table linens, curtains, and bedding, as well as maintaining wardrobes and linen cupboards. The housekeeper will also collaborate with gardeners to harvest and process seasonal fruit and vegetables.
From April to September, the estate’s acclaimed gardens welcomes groups of visitors. During this period, the housekeeper takes a leading role in catering, preparing and serving homemade light lunches and afternoon teas for groups visiting, by appointment, from Tuesday to Thursday. In preparation for the busy season, quiches and scones are made and frozen from February, using homegrown ingredients where possible.
Success in this role requires adaptability, efficiency, physical fitness, self-organisation, multitasking, and a good sense of humour. The principals foster a culture of trust, loyalty, and appreciation for their team’s dedication.

Hours of work: 8.30 – 16.30 (October to March) and 9.00 – 17.00 (April to September)

Pay: £30,000 gross per annum
