In addition to this you will have the opportunity to carry forward your length of service in regards to your annual leave allowance when joining the Hospice from another Hospice or the NHS.
Main duties of the job
As a senior clinical lead within Andys Childrens Hospice, you will provide day to day operational leadership and management for the childrens hospice service ensuring that care and support is equitable, professional and of an excellent standard and will support a diverse service, which includes Hospice at Home, Community support, Hospital support and a 24 hour on call, supported by an amazing Team.
You will provide a highly visible, accessible and supportive presence to ensure children and young peoples palliative care is delivered to the highest professional standards, providing evidence and outcomes to support this.

* Leadership & Management:
To support the development of the strategic plans within the Childrens Service.
To monitor the effective rostering and deployment of the Childrens Clinical Teams.
Support the development of our clinical nursing career pathways.
* Management Of Childrens Clinical Teams:
To lead, manage, motivate, and develop staff, through effective management of staff appraisals, 121s, sickness/absence management, development of competencies, performance management.
To be responsible for the effective rostering and deployment of the Childrens service nursing team, to ensure appropriate skill mix and efficient use of resources to cover the demands of the services
* Strategy, Change Management And Service Improvement:
Contribute to the ongoing strategic development of the Childrens Hospice services.
To be involved with the development and implementation of evidence-based services / interventions to meet the changing needs of patients, families and significant others.
Produce reports and data analysis detailing service delivery and developments as requested.
Lead and develop Childrens Clinical Audits.
* Working In Partnership:
To ensure effective communication and involvement arrangements exist across our partner agencies with a particular focus on Childrens palliative and end of life care.
To represent the organisation at identified meetings and forums, both internal and external.
To communicate effectively with children and young people, their families, and significant others to assess the quality of care and effectiveness of service provision.
* Operational Management:
To manage the day-to-day delivery of 24/7 service provision in Childrens Services.
Maintain and participate in the 24/7 on-call rota
Support the provision of telephone advice.
To attend patient related meetings (internal and external).
* Health & Safety Infection Prevention Control:
Ensure that environmental standards are appropriate for safe and clean care delivery in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Infection Prevention Control Requirements.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Nurse on NMC Register preferably childrens but other registered nurses will be considered.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuous training and development.
* Qualification in palliative care or a commitment to undertake qualification.
* Communication skills training
Desirable
* Recognised teaching and assessing qualification.
* Educated to Masters Level.
* Leadership and management training
Experience
Essential
* Post registration experience in relevant field, preferably with some spent in Palliative Care.
* Understanding of governance and quality measures.
* Fully aware of regulatory safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Experience in achieving service outcomes within the context of appropriate financial constraints.
* A successful record of leading, motivating and managing a team to achieve continuous improvement.
* Demonstrable success in performance management, organisational change, and project management.
* Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, to secure a shared and strategic approach.
* Well-developed leadership skills that command respect, encourage commitment from others and promote a positive culture.
* Highly resilient under pressure, enthusiastic, sensitive, with good judgement and high standards of integrity.
Desirable
* Post registration experience working with children.
* In-depth knowledge of complex health conditions.
* Knowledge of symptom management in Palliative Care desirable

* Proven track record of leading change management.
