Position: SEMH Key Worker
Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours, 1 or 2 sleep-ins per week (Term Time)
Salary: £14 - £18/hr, based on experience
Contract: Full-time
Key Responsibilities as a SEMH Key Worker:
As a SEMH Key Worker in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, you will provide essential care and support to children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that each child's Individual Support Plan (ISP) aligns with their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and Thrive progress targets. We are looking to recruit SEMH Key Workers who will be responsible for the care and leisure time of groups of students under the supervision and the direction of the Senior SEMH Key Worker team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and control provided to students and training and counselling of students in personal and social competence. The successful candidates will be an advocate for a small group of children supporting both their home and their development in school. You will be required to participate in the sleep in rota where you will stay overnight in the school. The school is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children. Your role will focus on:
Providing Individual Support - Oversee each child's ISP and work towards their EHCP goals while nurturing their overall development.
Family Engagement - Act as the main point of contact for parents, addressing concerns and keeping them involved in their child's progress.
Team Collaboration - Work alongside teachers, care staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each child's social and emotional development.
Creating a Nurturing Environment - Support children both socially and emotionally, helping them to thrive in a structured and caring setting in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
SEMH Key Worker - Skills & Requirements:
A compassionate and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
Experience working with Individual Support Plans (ISP) and an understanding of EHCP goals.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies.
The ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
