The Home
Bohill Care Home is a purpose-built facility with 80 single en-suite bedrooms over two floors. It is situated just outside of Coleraine Town Centre in the middle of beautiful countryside and has its own well maintained garden areas for residents to enjoy. Bohill Care Home have three dedicated units including Dementia Nursing, Dementia Residential and Frail Elderly Nursing. Bohill has big extension plans, creating new exciting career opportunities!
The Role
This role is 22hrs per week. The Senior Care Assistant role in our Homes is part of dedicated team who are essential to the daily operations of the Home. In our Residential Homes and units, this is a leadership role, working closely with the care team to lead on shifts and manage medication.
Senior Care Assistants provide high quality care and support to our residents in a warm and safe environment. Senior Care Assistants play a crucial role in the delivery of care, working with the care team, the role of a Senior Care Assistant is to provide leadership, guidance and hands-on assistance to ensure the residents receive personalised care that meets their individual needs and preferences.
Our Senior Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion; an advocacy for the rights and preferences of our residents.
Main Responsibilities
1. Provide direct care and support to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility in accordance with individual care plans and resident preferences.
2. Observes and monitors the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
3. Monitors and allocates the work for care assistants.
4. Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
5. Responsibility for the administration and management of medication, medication audits and storage in line with regulatory requirements.
6. Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

* Medications experience within care setting
* The Right to Work in the UK
* Educated to a minimum GCSE/NVQ 3 or above (or similar qualification) with a good standard of English
