Part time: 2 days / 14 hours per week
Salary: £25,000 per annum based on 35 hours, 3% employers pension contribution
Length of contract: 1 year fixed term with potential extension
Location: In venues in EH16 and EH15 postcodes (Newcraighall, Bingham, Magdalene and The Christians) with some working at the Craigmillar Now Arts and Heritage Centre.
Craigmillar Now is a community-led organisation committed to supporting people living in the greater Craigmillar area to access the arts and local history. We do this through a wide-ranging programme of creative activities, which include free-to-access arts workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and events. We host a free, weekly hot meal, prepared by local chefs and are the caretakers of a thriving community garden.
Craigmillar Now also holds the local archives, which are cared for by a team of volunteers. We regularly take our collections to venues across greater Craigmillar and further afield, reaching new communities and championing local history.
The Role:
As Craigmillar Now’s Local Outreach Worker, you will support local people to engage with our programme. Your role will involve finding solutions to overcome the barriers that may stop someone from taking part in Craigmillar Now’s activities. You will be primarily based off-site, spreading the word about Craigmillar Now’s work and helping us to gain greater visibility locally. As the Local Outreach Worker, you will be the point of contact for our network of community workers and referrers.
How to Apply:
To apply, please submit a CV (no more than 1 page) and a short cover letter (up to 500 words) to info@craigmillarnow.com or send us a short video – no more than 5 mins long as a .mov file or via a private link telling us about your experience and why you'd be a great Local Outreach Worker. (Please also include your CV with a video presentation.)
