We are looking to recruit either an advanced clinicalpractitioner or a paramedic to join our well-established practice. You willwork autonomously and will be a key member of our urgent care team.
The post has become available due to a planned retirement.
Our surgery operates on a total triage model with 15 minsappointment slots for the urgent care team.
Typically, youll be seeing patients who have requested anurgent/same day appointment. You will be providing assessment and managementadvice for new medical problem only (not follow ups).
Main duties of the job
Working closelywith GP colleagues, the cores responsibilities for the urgent care team are;
Providingassessment, treatment, screening and advice to patients presenting with minorillnesses and urgent care needs.
Dealingwith minor illness and injury and experience in diagnosing prescribing andreferring.
Therewill be the requirement to conduct some home visits.
Participate in the administrative andprofessional responsibilities of the Practice team
Ensure the clinical computer system is kept upto date with accurate details recorded and amended
Attend and participate in Practice meetings asrequired
There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks and this will be depending uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels

You will be part ofa large multi-disciplinary team. We have 6 partners and 5 salaried GPs workingalongside a large clinical and back office team including urgent care team,nursing team including mental health and physiotherapists.
We consult usingEMIS Web Clinical system with Ardens clinical decision support tool.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience and competence in managing a General Practice caseload.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability
* Ability to maintain accurate and timely medical records

Qualifications
* Paramedic has 3 years experience as band 6 (or equivalent) and registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Advanced Clinical Practitioner Nurse is a qualified independent prescriber that has graduated from a Centre for Advancing Practice accredited MSc advanced programme.
