About the opportunity
The Jacobs Cities & Places team create thriving places across different scales - from regions to cities, neighbourhoods to individual buildings and all through an integrated design approach. We are looking for experienced Senior / Principal level Transport Planners to complement our growing team across the South West and South Wales. This role requires you to be involved in undertaking and managing the delivery of a wide range of strategic transport projects for a variety of our public sector clients. To be successful in this position, you must have detailed knowledge and experience of local transport planning and policy, transport studies and recognised transport appraisal techniques.
This role will allow you to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to chase new opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Manage the outputs of junior members of the team and assist in their technical development.
* Undertake and manage the delivery of transport planning projects.
* Develop and expand experience in active travel and mass transit projects.
Minimum Requirements
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
* Achieved or working towards a relevant professional accreditation (e.g., CEng or CTPP).
* Extensive experience in the Transport Planning field.
* Creative and solutions-oriented approach with a strong technical background.
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently.
* Flexibility to manage a varied workload and embrace new technologies.
* Robust written and verbal communication skills.
* Competently liaise and communicate with clients.
* Manage tasks using appropriate program, budget and quality controls.
