The Role
This position will be responsible for managing all financial processes efficiently with the support of a finance administrator. You will ensure best practice financial control across all company activities Produce financial reports that meet management & statutory requirements Be active member of management team tasked with growing the business
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensure ledgers maintained properly
Systems administrator for finance applications
Ensure daily bank reconciliations completed properly
Keep banking administration up to date
Manage purchase & sales ledgers in accordance with best practice (through Accounts Assistant)
Ensure supplier payment file prepared for approval by Directors
Ensure reconciliation of supplier statements
Produce & act on aged debtor and creditor listings
Complete speedy month end close process targeting zero errors
Ensure completion of quarterly VAT returns
Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet & cashflow) including comparison to budget
Work with management to compile annual budget & upload to finance reporting application
Ensure payroll inputs for Payroll Bureau are timely, complete, accurate & in accordance with policy & procedure (May be in house)
Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and controls
Perform other finance & administrative duties as directed by Directors.
The Candidate
Our client are looking for a proactive and resilient candidate who can add value to the finance function and wider business. You will ideally be CIMA qualified, however other qualifications will be considered, as would the right candidate if qualified by experience.
You will have worked in a similar position, and will be able to demonstrate how you have impacted the performance of the finance function.
You will be highly IT literate, ideally with experience using Xero, and advanced Excel skills.
The Terms
This position requires 30 hours per week, ideally spread over 5 days. The position will be office based in Chesham. The location has plenty of parking and is easily accessible. An actual salary of £39K is available for the 30 hours work (FTE of £52K).
