Working details: Monday – 3 hours (10am-1pm) Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5 hours per day (8.30am – 1.30pm)

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Cook to join our experienced and dedicated team at Louth Corps (Church), to source, prepare and cook good quality food for our café and customers attending our regular luncheon club.
The successful candidate will plan menus, prepare, cook, present and serve food to recognised high standards ensuring that current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards are maintained. They will help to provide a support programme to vulnerable and marginalised people in the community, working in partnership with other Salvation Army colleagues and volunteers.
The successful candidate will have:
• Proven good knowledge and successful experience of planning, preparing and serving good quality and nutritious food in a commercial kitchen environment including the use of standard kitchen tools and equipment
• Up to date knowledge of food hygiene regulations and requirements with a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, or willingness to attain within agreed time scale
• Proven ability of keeping accurate and up to date written records (e.g. menus, hygiene records) and working within budgets
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and customers
• The physical ability to undertake the duties associated with this role
• Experience of using Microsoft Word and Outlook email software to perform your work duties or willingness to learn
• The ability and willingness to work within and be empathic with the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission
It would be advantageous if you have:
• Experience of supervising employees/volunteers within a catering environment
• S/NVQ level 2 in catering or equivalent qualification
