Are you ready to make a significant impact in safeguarding the lives of vulnerable individuals? We are seeking a Specialist Safeguarding Manager to join One Recovery Bucks, operating across Buckinghamshire.
This Band 6 role involves leading the operational management of safeguarding practices in drug and alcohol services while promoting integration with local social care systems.
As the central point of contact for safeguarding concerns, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening pathways and ensuring robust, evidence-based practices that align with local and national policies.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Safeguarding Manager, you will:
* Act as the safeguarding lead within Buckinghamshire's drug and alcohol services, representing One Recovery Bucks in multi-agency safeguarding settings such as the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub).
* Provide specialist advice on substance use concerns and interventions for safeguarding referrals.
* Oversee operational development and management of the Family Service, including line managing Family Workers.
* Strengthen referral pathways and collaborate with statutory and voluntary agencies to promote integrated care.
* Ensure staff training, performance management, and adherence to safeguarding legislation and best practices.
* Lead on domestic abuse cases within the service, supporting clients, coordinating risk management, and attending key operational meetings.

Skills and Abilities
* Good presentation skills both written and oral including the ability to produce & present reports.
* Ability to liaise and build links with relevant statutory and non-statutory agencies.
* Commitment to work within the framework of the recovery agenda.
Knowledge and Understanding
* An understanding of current child protection frameworks and legislation and to apply these in assessing risk and knowing what services are appropriate based on the presenting needs of the family.
