QC Engineer The Opportunity Morson Technical Services are looking to recruit a Quality Control (QC) Inspector/Engineer to Support the ongoing development and delivery of a national capability across the UK in support of a major Contract. The role will be located near Salisbury, Wiltshire - normal office hours but may require some work outside normal office hours, including weekends and some site visits at various locations around the UK. This is a fixed term contract position. The successful candidate will have good engineering knowledge and demonstrable experience supporting IT, electronic, electrical, and mechanical technologies. What you will do The Quality Control Engineer reports to the Senior Project Assurance Engineer and is responsible for: • Monitoring the quality of products coming in and being delivered out to the Customer. • Performing quality control at the Test and Repair Facility, assuring all elements of the System and Sub System preparation and test are completed, ready for deployment. • Maintaining accurate records of work undertaken, including As-Built definitions. • Identifying and recording any non-conformances to process and procedures. Liaising with relevant departments to resolve such issues. • Controlling defective items via segregation from good products. • Raising and maintaining relevant non-conformance reports. • Working with Delivery, Test and Engineering Teams to identify and improve weakness in processes, procedures and policies. • Reporting progress regularly on the assigned tasks, highlighting where agreed target dates are not going to be achieved via formal written reports. • Ensuring all measurement equipment is maintained and calibrated in accordance with the company's internal procedures. • Be prepared for some travel throughout the UK to provide assurance activity at Customer locations, sometimes at short notice. What we are looking for The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a QC Inspector/Engineer and an excellent range of knowledge and experience delivering quality standards to products and services for systems containing IT, electronic, electrical, mechanical and cabling components and sub-systems. Specific knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: • Previous experience working as a QC Inspector / Engineer. • Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical documents and test procedures. • ISO standards, including ISO 9001 - Quality Management and ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and safety management. • Being able to interpret engineering drawings and handbooks. • Conducting internal audits. • Maintaining quality control Systems. • A full UK driving Licence.
