We are looking for a flexible, motivated, and dynamic nurse to join our small, friendly, creative, and forward-thinking Haemoglobinopathy team. The newly created vacancy has arisen due to our expanding patient numbers and service needs.
Job Overview
Our well-established Thames Valley Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Network cares for approximately 600 adults and children with Sickle cell disease, Thalassaemia, and other Rare Anaemias, covering Oxford, Milton Keynes, Swindon, Wexham Park, Reading, and Frimley Health hospitals.
Main Duties of the Job
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, motivated nurse to develop the skills to work flexibly with both adult and paediatric services across the network. You will be part of our whole life service and will be an integral team member, providing support, education, and information to patients and families.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Registered nurse: adult and/or children’s
* First degree in nursing (HEI Level 5 or 6) or equivalent
* Postgraduate level working evidenced via a continuing professional development portfolio
* Completed or completing postgraduate level (HEI level 7) study or willing to undertake
Knowledge
* Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge in the specialty
* Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC guidelines
* Experience of applying research evidence to clinical practice
Skills
* Previous experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
* Demonstrates high level written and verbal communication skills
Experience
* Evidence of working across complex multidisciplinary teams
