SEND Teaching Assistants - Secondary Schools

Role:
We are looking for caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team, supporting Secondary Schools in Southend and the surrounding areas.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students with SEND, helping them overcome learning challenges and achieve both academic and personal success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to SEND students, tailored to their needs
- Assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student
- Encourage independence and build student confidence in their learning
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEND students (preferred but not essential)
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility to adapt to individual needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or SEND training (preferred but not essential)
