Nuclear Power Programmes is one of the newest Business Units within Jacobs and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power.
Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. Join Jacobs as a Delivery Assurance & Governance Analyst and you’ll join a dynamic team on one of the most exciting and challenging projects, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.
The role sits within the Nuclear New Build (NNB) Digital & IT department and you will be responsible for supporting the Digital & IT Delivery Assurance and Governance Manager in delivering and improving ongoing Assurance and Governance processes.
As a Delivery Assurance & Governance Analyst, your main responsibility will be to ensure the active review and submission of weekly status portfolio reporting and risks and issues log, work closely with Programme Delivery and Project Managers to address assurance and governance queries, participate and lead in assurance review meetings and ensure architecture design decisions comply with recognised governance standards.
You will act as the main Governance point of contact for Project Managers, will attend Project Boards and will ensure governance processes are understood and correctly applied.
The main responsibilities will include:
1. Maintain the Portfolio Governance framework and schedule and ensure Digital & IT Projects and Programmes adhere to the structure.
2. Own and maintain governance templates and logs (Weekly Status, Portfolio Governance Forums, Risks & Issues, Dependencies, RESA, Investment Case, Change Request, Actions and Decisions).
3. Ensure strict adherence to Change Control processes whenever a deviation is required from a baselined deliverable, including scope, requirements, costs and timescales.
4. Ensure strict adherence to the Governance calendar and deadlines across the Portfolio.
5. Schedule Governance meetings and collate and provide supporting Governance material.
6. Engage with new joiners (particularly Project Managers & Business Architects) to ensure Governance processes and timelines are understood.
7. Regularly liaise with Project Managers to support the successful Governance according to agreed standards and processes, ensuring integrity of baseline information for projects and programmes; such as budgets, milestone dates, investment approval phases.
8. Oversee the administration of Projects’ Investment and Change Control Processes, to provide assurance that all the projects in the portfolio are appropriately governed and changes to baselined deliverables across the portfolio are managed appropriately.
9. Support the continuous improvement of portfolio management arrangements; including procedures, guidance notes and governance structures.
