An award-winning consultancy firm specializing in heritage and conservation is looking for someone with a passion for historic buildings who excels in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and who is experienced and capable of delivering building surveying services to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing reports with the necessary background research
2. Site surveys to assess building defects and remedial works
3. Administering construction contracts
4. Preparing specifications for repairs
5. Providing high quality and timely advice to clients relating to building material condition and performance
6. Attending meetings with clients and their consultants and assisting in giving appraisals of building material condition and performance
7. Preparing fee proposals and contributing to bids.
Skills and Qualifications Needed:
1. Membership of the RICS essential
2. Previous experience of complex repair and refurbishment projects and contract administration
3. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant technical standards and statutory requirements
4. In-depth knowledge of building decay processes and repair techniques
5. A full driving licence will be required
6. RICS Accredited in Building Conservation or full member of IHBC desirable
7. Commercial awareness and aptitude for business development
Remuneration:
Salary: between £35,000 to £50,000 p/a (dependent on experience)
