About The Role Are you ready to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of one of the UK's key energy facilities? We are seeking dedicated Security Guards to join our team at EDF Hartlepool. In this role, you will be responsible for personnel and vehicle access control, conducting patrols, maintaining security records, and performing searches using modern security techniques. As a Security Guard, you will be required to complete detailed and meaningful verbal and written reports of both specific and routine incidents. While previous security experience and computer literacy are desirable, the ability to be proactive and work effectively as part of a close-knit team is essential. You must demonstrate a flexible approach to work duties and cover arrangements. Our Station Security Team operates a Standby and Callout arrangement on a rostered basis, for which additional payments are made. Hours for this role are: 08:00 – 16:00. Pay, Benefits And Culture The salary range associated with this role is between £33,885 - £38,219 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What You’ll Be Doing As a Security Guard at Hartlepool Power Plant for EDF, you will be responsible for ensuring that all activities, including those undertaken by contract partners, comply with site licence requirements, security agreements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures, and safety rules. You will implement necessary procedures to control access and egress of individuals to the site and restricted areas, ensuring the highest level of security. You will need to be competent in undertaking and advising on all general security guard duties. This includes maintaining appropriate records of occurrences and all logs related to the security department, as well as producing management printouts and reports as requested. Your role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of the facility, and we are looking for individuals who are ready to take on this important responsibility. Who You Are Educational Qualifications: At a minimum, candidates should be educated to GCSE/National Qualification standards (or equivalent). It is advantageous to have qualifications with grade “4” and above passes in English and Mathematics. Professional Experience: An NVQ level 2 in security or equivalent experience is desirable. Communication Skills: Excellent people and communication skills are essential to maintain effective and acceptable ‘front of house’ standards. Technical Skills: Computer literacy is required for monitoring and responding to security systems. Teamwork and Initiative: Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a team.
