Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Mortgages play an vital part of HSBC's UK Retail Bank providing a range of products to support customers from first time buyers, to home movers to Buy to Let investors providing quality accommodation for renters. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to HSBC and its customers by reviewing policies with a fresh pair of eyes and assessing opportunity to enhance and evolve to support HSBC serve a greater range of customer needs in a safe and sustainable way.

In this role you will:
• Lead and develop Secured credit policy ensuring compliance with regulation and internal policy, driving good customer outcomes
• Prioritise planned projects and tasks, whilst effectively managing and challenging requests for unplanned or ad-hoc work
• Be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of delivered results
• Positively contribute to the vision and strategy of the department, working with the management group and being a role model for junior colleagues
• Develop and maintain a productive relationship with the offshore analytics team
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Proven experience within portfolio management and credit strategy preferably covering both residential and buy to let lending as well as property and climate risk
• Experience of working in an analytical or strategy role within financial services or an alternative data-driven organisation
• Excellent knowledge of the credit life cycle
• Experience in credit risk policy, strategy, operations and related procedures
• Track record of delivering complex projects within a team, delivering results on time and on budget and managing own time effectively
This role is based in Birmingham, Sheffield or Leeds.
