Purpose of the Supply Chain Analyst Role:
Our client is looking for a highly analytical and data-driven Supply Chain Analyst to support the performance review, forecasting, and decision-making for our product range. This role will focus on analysing sales, margins, and stock holding levels, providing actionable insights, and supporting key strategic decisions such as product listing, delisting, and sales promotions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience with Power BI and data reporting, and a keen ability to interpret complex data to drive business success.
Main duties and responsibilities of the Supply Chain Analyst Role:
* Monitor and analyse product sales, margin performance, and stock levels to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Provide data-driven recommendations on product listings and delisting based on sales velocity, profitability, and stock efficiency.
* Assist in inventory optimisation by analysing demand patterns and recommending stock holding adjustments and pallet optimisation.
* Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to support promotional activities with data insights.
* Provide reports on the impact of sales promotions and recommend stock allocation strategies to maximize revenue.
* Create, manage, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards for real-time visibility of stock performance.
* Develop custom reports to support different teams in making informed decisions regarding product planning, sales forecasting, and supply chain management.
* Present key findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
* Support the Head of Supply Chain with data-backed ordering decisions, ensuring optimal stock replenishment.
* Identify slow-moving or excess stock and recommend clearance or promotional strategies to improve cash flow.
* Collaborate with the supply chain team to align ordering strategies with market trends and seasonal demand.
Experience/knowledge requirements for Supply Chain Analyst Role:
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
* Experience using Power BI, Excel (advanced), and other data visualization tools.
* Ability to work with large datasets and generate meaningful insights.
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of stock and sales performance drivers.
* Excellent communication skills to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
* Experience in supply chain, stock management, or sales analysis within a retail or furniture industry is a plus.
