Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager for Record to Report Operations, the primary responsibility of this role is to lead a team in delivering high-quality work related to cash loss reporting. This includes providing accurate reports to stores, regional teams, and the Accuracy & Loss department, as well as supporting these groups in investigating and resolving cash-related issues.
You'll lead and inspire a team of 5 to drive the integrity and control in the financial results and be a trusted business partner to the Finance teams who are based in our London Store Support Centre and stores nationwide.
What you'll do
Your key accountabilities will include:
* Positively contribute to all projects relevant to your area, ensuring a high quality of testing is performed by your team and post launch issues are raised and timely resolved.
* Supporting Accuracy & Loss to achieve business goals in relation to new technology and the cash strategy.
* Working with colleagues to ensure completeness of reporting and financial activity for all areas of their responsibility.
* Develop different ways of working with the team on upcoming finance transformations ensuring activity is aligned with new processes.
* Setting the agenda for improvements in their processes and drive continuous improvement, including automation.
* Working with finance systems colleagues to ensure Revenue to Cash systems are working as they should and resolve issues with the team quickly.
Who You Are
Your skills and experience will include:
* Strong control mentality and ability to demonstrate a continuous improvement approach, and happy to challenge day to day activities to aid the transformation of the business.
* Experience previously managing a team, with the ability to adapt and effectively lead the team and store colleagues (remotely) through change.
* Good understanding of cash processes and ability to quickly pick up where data is not accurate, interrogating systems and store cash activity to resolve.
* Great interpersonal skills within M&S colleagues and 3rd party providers and the ability to manage business partners expectations and requirements.
* Good knowledge of Excel and Power BI.
