Ark Buckie provides support to 19 supported people to live independently in their own homes. Support ranges from 16 hours a week to 24-hour support. Due to the nature of support we provide, shift patterns are variable to meet the needs of the individual. We support a wide range of ages from 18 to 70+. Support varies based on the individuals' needs and wishes, which could include personal care, medication management, finances, meal preparation, support to appointments, household tasks, or accessing the community.
Our supported people enjoy a variety of activities such as going out for lunch, bowling, trampolining, swimming, darts, football, snooker, spending time with their families, and going on holidays. An increasing number of our supported people have mobility cars, which widens opportunities for community activities. We always strive to make goals happen for people, whether it’s exploring courses to support employability or trying new activities. Our supported people love being part of the community and have been organizing regular events such as discos and BBQs where they can invite their friends and family.
Please note that this role includes sleepover shifts, with shift start times around 7 am and finish times around 10 pm.
A sleepover shift consists of working during the day, a rest period sleeping over in the service between 11 pm and 7 am, and then working again the next day. Sleepover shifts are typically from 3 pm to 3 pm or 10 am to 10 am. The sleepover period is in addition to your contracted hours and is compensated with an additional payment of £96.00 per sleepover.
