Job Title: Programme Manager - Motor Vehicles
Salary: £38,142 - £45,689 FTE (PM1 – PM7)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (including up to 18 teaching hours)

About the Role:
The School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Manager to lead the Motor Vehicles department at Langley Campus. This exciting role combines leadership responsibilities with teaching, allowing you to make a real impact on the development of students, staff, and the curriculum. You will lead a team of dedicated educators, oversee the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, and work closely with industry partners to ensure our provision meets the evolving needs of the motor vehicle sector. As Programme Manager, you will also contribute to strategic growth, quality improvement, and curriculum development to help shape the future of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Programme Management:
* Lead the Department: Manage and lead a high-performing team, ensuring excellent student outcomes, high satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
* Set KPIs and Standards: Work with the Vice Principal and Curriculum Director to deliver on key performance indicators and ensure that programme standards are met.
* Ensure Quality Delivery: Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, fostering a culture of excellence that drives student achievement and progression.
* Curriculum Development: Support the development and continuous improvement of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of students, employers, and the wider community. Develop new courses and programmes, including apprenticeships and industry-relevant qualifications.
1. Teaching & Learning:
* Effective Teaching: Teach up to 18 hours per week, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that promote student success and progression.
* Assessment & Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback, ensuring students are on track to meet their learning objectives.
* Student Support: Monitor and support student morale and discipline, both in and out of the classroom. Ensure students receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
2. Strategic Growth & Industry Engagement:
* Develop Commercial Operations: Drive the growth of the commercial side of the curriculum, developing new partnerships and opportunities for students, including industry placements.
* External Relationships: Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, schools, and parents, to promote the curriculum area and attract new students.
3. Staff Management & Development:
* Team Leadership: Manage a team of staff, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and committed to providing excellent teaching and support to students.
* Professional Development: Support the professional growth of the team through regular performance reviews, CPD, and team-building activities.
4. Quality Improvement:
* Continuous Improvement: Assist with day-to-day operations, ensuring quality standards are maintained and student satisfaction is maximized. Contribute to internal reviews, self-assessment, and quality assurance processes.
* Curriculum Evaluation: Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum, making necessary adjustments to meet industry trends and student needs.
5. Other Duties:
* Safeguarding & Welfare: Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of students, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
* Data & Reporting: Accurately track student progress, including attendance, assessments, and progress reports, using systems like ProMonitor.
* Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and relevant teaching practices through continuous professional development (CPD).
About You:
* Experience: Proven experience in a teaching and leadership role within a motor vehicle or engineering education setting.
* Leadership Skills: Strong management and leadership capabilities with experience leading teams to success and driving performance improvements.
* Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of the motor vehicle industry, including the skills and qualifications needed by employers.
* Teaching Experience: Experience delivering vocational or technical training, with a strong focus on student achievement and progression.
* Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders including students, colleagues, and external partners.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute to the long-term development of the curriculum.
