IT Manager

At Wärtsilä Defence Solutions Limited (WDSL), we enhance the business of our customers by providing integrated systems, packages, and products that offer lifecycle efficiency, decreased costs, and reduced risks through the provision of reliable and environmentally sustainable products.
We are now looking for an IT Manager to join our team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Havant, UK.
As IT Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
* Lead and manage the IT team, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
* Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure efficient and secure operations.
* Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Project Management:
* Manage IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Compliance and Security:
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect company data.
System Maintenance and Support:
* Manage the support partner/s to maximize their performance.
* Ensure the stability, security, and performance of all IT systems and infrastructure.
* Accountable for the ownership, maintenance, and support of hardware, software, and network systems.
* Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup procedures.
Strategic Planning:
* Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the company's business goals.
* Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements to drive innovation.
* Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT or Cyber in a comparable environment.
* Willingness to adopt the Wärtsilä Culture.
* Strong leadership skills and can demonstrate a team working ethos.
* Experience dealing with sub-contractors and vendors.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* An appreciation of defence or complex infrastructure.
* A demonstrable track record of delivery.
* Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
* Degree level qualification (any subject) or appropriate institute accreditation.
* Experience in the maritime domain.
* Experience as a project manager delivering change.
