We are a passionate trauma service offering psychological services to children, families, and adults who have been affected by developmental trauma. We support families who have adopted, to help nurture parent and child relationships and understand the child in the context of their early history. We also have a strong focus on neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, ADHD, FASD, and intellectual disability. We recognise that children who have been affected by trauma benefit from multidisciplinary based interventions and we offer a variety of interventions from a range of therapeutic approaches including psychology, creative therapy, and play based therapy.
We are looking for a creative therapist to join our existing creative therapy team, and to help us to continue to deliver an effective service to children and their families.

Job Summary:
* Provides specialist therapeutic intervention for children and families who have been affected by developmental trauma and children who have been adopted, and/or are autistic.
* To exercise autonomous professional judgment and responsibility for the therapeutic management of children and young people including formulation, intervention, report writing, and discharge and effective communication of these plans with other professionals involved in the care of the young person.
* Develops formulations based on the assessment of attachment difficulties, developmental trauma, and neurodevelopmental differences.
* Provides, develops and manages highly specialist interventions for children and families.
* Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting trauma informed interventions.
* Opportunity to be involved in service research projects if desired.
* To maintain comprehensive clinical notes and consultation records as defined in the operational policy.
* To work directly with young people and families, as well as systemically to share psychologically informed practice and intervention with the system around the child e.g. schools, social workers, other professionals.
* Development of the creative therapy branch of the service.
Qualifications:
Registration with relevant professional bodies e.g. HCPC registration (mandatory), relevant professional qualification in therapeutic approach (Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance and Movement Therapy, etc). Training in additional relevant approaches is also highly desirable e.g. Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. Further training opportunities and continued professional development will be supported and encouraged within this role.
Professional registrations required: Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is mandatory.
Experience: Clinical experience of working with children, families and young people is essential and experience in looked-after or adopted children and early trauma and attachment difficulties in children is highly desirable. Experience in trauma-based therapies such as DDP and Theraplay is also highly desirable.
Contract: This is a full time position, however we will consider applicants who request a part time contract or associate work; please state a part time request on your application.
