We have a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join a service for adults of a working age with mental health needs and/or learning disabilities in the Kendal area.
The successful candidate will be providing a specialist psychology service and play an integral role within the service and its strategic and clinical development.

Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Psychologist:
1. Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
2. Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
3. Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
4. Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
5. Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
6. Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.
7. Working collaboratively with others to promote the wellbeing and best interests of those you support and the effectiveness of the service in achieving its aims and objectives, ensuring a high-quality service provision in line with best practice guidelines and internal policies and procedures.
8. Undertaking all aspects of Clinical Psychology duties adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines.
9. Carrying out assessments; designing individualised plans and strategies; implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions; report writing, attending and facilitating multi-professional reviews.
Essential Criteria of a Clinical Psychologist:
1. To have BPS recognised psychology degrees.
2. UK HCPC registration.
3. To have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications.
4. To be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division.
5. To have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
6. To have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a Learning Disabilities and Autism setting.
7. To be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits.
8. To have previous experience of conducting research and project working.
