I-Pharm consulting are supporting a true global leader in the healthcare/medical device market with a newly created position within it's Environmental Health and Safety function. This newly created position will take the lead on the implementation of Environmental and Sustainability strategies for the site (which consists of warehousing operations, office based employees and field based technical maintenance staff). With a hybrid working model, the SHE Manager will be required to be on site in West Sussex 1-2 days per week. Working closely with the existing group Team Leader, this role will ensure that the site is practising and prioritises environmental sustainability and comprehensive reporting. You will be responsible for the following: Implementing and maintaining effective safety protocols Fostering a culture of environmental awareness and compliance Minimising the environmental impact of the company operations How will you do it? : Manage the Environmental and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001 and 14001) Monitor and review the SHE policy and practice - ensuring compliance with ISO standards Drive initiatives (environmental) Manage the statutory environmental reporting to comply with Environmental regulations such as WEEE, EPA and SECR Report Conduct audits and assessments to ensure adherence to the laws and regulations Be a Subject Matter Expert on regulations such as WEEE and REACH and on Internal Audits The job description is not limited to the above, but we are seeking someone with strong environmental and sustainability expertise and as such will provide a full description to suitable applicants. Who we are looking for: Experience/Skills: Experience in EHS roles, preferably within the medical or healthcare industry In-depth knowledge of HSE legislative frameworks across EU and UK Expertise in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards Excellent communication skills Understanding of green gas reduction program requirements Qualifications: Environment Management Certification essential - eg NEBOSH, IEMA Accreditation by an approved Environmental association (eg IEMA) is preferred Applicants must have full working rights for the UK for this position as visa sponsorship is not available.
