Thornton is a specialist construction contractor and fabricator serving the building envelope and rainwater markets. We are recruiting a Workshop Administrator to support our Metalworks department. This role is essential in managing invoicing and purchase orders, while ensuring that specialist processessuch as powder coating deliveries and collectionsare handled professionally. Youll be a key part in keeping the workshop running efficiently. Responsibilities: Prepare and process invoices and quotations, ensuring timely payments and clear customer communication. Create and manage POs to maintain a smooth supply chain and prevent delays. Organise and track specialist processes, such as powder coating deliveries and collections, to ensure jobs are completed on schedule. Organise deliveries when required. Liaise with suppliers to track stock levels, ensuring materials and consumables are ordered as required. Maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, and deliveries to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Act as a key point of contact for suppliers, couriers, and customers, providing updates and resolving any queries. Assist with general administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the workshop, including filing, scheduling, and responding to internal queries. Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary by the company to ensure efficient operations. Experience & Skills: Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a workshop, manufacturing, or construction environment, is desirable although not necessary. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Proficiency in MS Office and business softwares. Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting the team as needed. Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team environment. Willingness to train fellow employees.
