Location: Towcester/Silverstone
Salary: £23,940 - £30,370 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus SEN allowance and additional benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

A highly reputable and independent SEN secondary school in the Towcester/Silverstone area is seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Tutor to join its teaching staff. This school is committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for students with special educational needs, and is looking for an individual who can inspire and engage young learners in the world of food technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEN students.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, practical skills development, and safe working practices.
- Support students in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject, ensuring all learning objectives are met.
- Assess, monitor, and report on students' progress, adapting teaching methods as needed to ensure full inclusion and success.
- Collaborate with the wider teaching team to ensure a holistic approach to student learning and development.
- Maintain and manage the food technology classroom, including all equipment and resources, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Contribute to the school's ethos and values, promoting a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in teaching or tutoring Food Technology at secondary level.
- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, assess, and deliver lessons effectively.
- A passion for food technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality education in a practical and creative way.
Desirable Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience within a SEN school environment.
- Additional qualifications or experience in a related subject area or field (e.g., nutrition, catering).
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to food technology teaching.
