Store person/ General Operative Duties and responsibilities of the Store person/ General Operative Receive, check and sign for all deliveries made to site Take deliveries and manage the loading dock and store rooms Unload & load lorries/vans Check deliveries against delivery notes and for quality, quantities & damage or missing items Checking stock levels regularly Completing the required paperwork when booking in & Keeping paperwork up to date Updating stock information on the computer system Comparing items received against items ordered Implementing or improving processes and procedures Compiling daily reports and addressing inventory discrepancies Performing random checks and audits Work in a safe manner and comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies Able to work well as part of a team Ability to work accurately and methodically Flexible approach to duties and tasks Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality Facilitating the flow of materials between various parties and departments Streamlining interdepartmental communication Working with site managers to collect relevant information about job status General packing requirements ensuring preservation of products Skills and Qualification needed for the Store person/ General Operative Organisation skills Time management skills Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Word Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to comply with company procedures and policies Interpersonal skills FLT licence is essential for the role
